A place to Exist
First Year, 2018
The brief of this project, an existing building with all its plans was given to us. We had the opportunity of choosing where to locate the building, however, the location had to be surrounded by cliffs (mountains) and sea. Additionally, we were asked to choose the owner of the house and the workshop (office) that will be utilized in the house. My location was in Hawaii, specifically "Halona Blowhole Lookout".
My inspiration for this project was the Moroccan style, as I have always been obsessed with the mandala doodles, patterns, and the Islamic style in general, thus, I wanted my main first project to relate to my passion.
I decided that the owner of the house would be me, hence, the workshop (office) will contain a small library, interior design studio, as well as, a corner to draw and print the mandala doodles either on posters or fabrics, as I love drawing the doodles. This project reflects the substantial combination of the old classical Moroccan style and the contemporary Moroccan style.
