Challenges always encourage me, that is why I took this project as a great challenge, as it was interesting choosing for the first time the brief of the project ourselves. In Middle East, a couple’s wedding day implies a greatly vital and huge occasion, where people use to express their cheerfulness and gladness, as well as sharing this extraordinary occasion with their family, close companions, and others they love. That is why couples would be very careful in choosing the day and the place, as this place will be the reason for their new lives together.
Thus, the idea of designing a wedding venue place was an extremely intriguing thought, that popped up in my intellect from the first while and I was emphatically persuaded of it. The reason of this, is that I am enthusiastic to the idea of researching, exploring, and designing a place where it supposed to spread out the happiness between all its utilizers.
Concept
My main target was making sure that my final graduation project would be unique and distinctive, that is why I desired new functionalities and features in this venue; which was not based previously or perhaps not well-known. I worked on developing all my strengths through this project, as a consequence, the concept of this project, is applying the Moroccan style in it, which will always remain my favorite as I used it initially along with my first-year project and I wanted to end my third year with it, in addition, I consider it as one of my designing strengths. After long thoughts, I decided to design a place where the couples will utilize for a whole day. The venue is distinguished by firstly, the SPA includes (sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, cold plunge), next, is a full body massage, subsequently, the beauty care includes (manicure & pedicure for feet and hands, hair and makeup care, and lastly, stages to change their garment), fourthly, the wedding venue (tables, couple’s stage, dancing stage, DJ, open buffet), and finally, a suite for the couples to stay after the wedding for just one night; which will be an optional gift from the “Golden Hours” venue to the couples. The suite is very distinctive, as the feng-shui Chinese science is applied on its design.
To conclude, the concept of this project was to produce a spectacular designed place in which it would be socially very successful and would receive a huge number of turnouts. My main inspiration was the Moroccan and the classical-modern design, light colors, golden and bronze accessories, and simple luxurious style that catches the eyes. Due to the plenty of features that this place provides, I have considered the organized order in terms of distributing the areas and furniture to make it as simplest and comfortable to the visitors. I admit that I have applied all what I have learned from my previous years and improved my skills during this project, at the end of this project I have demonstrated all of my best interior designer skills and produced a high-quality outcome.
The Golden Hours
I did not think about brand or client to choose, as following a specific design was not my desire and I did not consider it as a challenge. I settled with the main idea of the design which was Moroccan, the reason of that was because I wanted to explore myself and my strengths in designing as an interior designer, before I graduate and start working with real clients.
In the beginning I was worried about not choosing the name of the place, however, it was interesting later that the name “Golden Hours” popped up in my mind while the design journey. Although, the name suddenly came on my mind, but it has a reasonable meaning. “Gold” in reality is something that everyone loves and would do anything to own either for money, beauty, etc. Moreover, using the level of gold colors in any design gives a very unique and charming appearance, according to this, most of the accessories I have used in this project was the levels of the gold color, as a consequence, the word “Golden” was very convincing to me. On the other hand, the word “Hours” in reality is very important for everyone as it could refer to the importance of time and as an evidence, Arabs have a proverb demonstrates the significance of time: “Time is like sword if you do not cut it, it will cut you”. According to the previous explanations, I used these words to demonstrate for visitors that they will definitely spend charming and spectacular golden hours in this venue, which they will never regret.
